From its earliest days, Freemasonry has been concerned with the care of orphans, the sick and the aged. This work continues to remain a special focus for attention within Old Priory Lodge. We pride ourselves on our donations to national and local charities.
After the recent illness of W.Bro Bryan Moore, who was given invaluable assistance by the staff at the Walton Neurological Centre, members of Old Priory decided that it was essential to show their gratitude to the Centre in the form of a charitable donation.
Members of Old Priory Lodge, W.Bros Harry Unsworth and David Hickman together with Bryans wife, Muriel, visited the centre to express their thanks to the staff who play a vital role in the care of their patients.
Charitable donations will again be made during this year to various other local charitable organisations.
Following his Installation as WM of Old Priory Lodge for 2016-17, Bro. Allan Spain chose to make a charitable donation to the Hope Centre in St Helens for their baby basics campaign.
Unfortunately, due to work commitments and an unexpected illness the Worshipful Master did not get a chance to go and formally present the cheque himself so entrusted his friend Kelly to visit the centre and make the donation on his behalf.
The Hope Centre will use the money donated to buy and fill Moses baskets to give to new Mums with basic essentials for their new borns.
